Rhodesian Ridgebacks are a majestic and powerful dog wrapped up in a goofball. They are independent and loyal. Sound like a dichotomy? You’re right. 

How would you describe yourself? Have you owned one before or will this be your first? What attracts you to the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed? These are just some of the conversation starters to help the person on the other side of your email decide to write you back and what to talk to you about.

If that person only wants to talk about how much the puppy is, then move on. Go back to the drawing board. You are probably talking to a backyard rhodesian ridgeback breeder and the cost of that puppy will turn into multiples called vet bills and possibly an early end of its lifespan.

If that person writes you back, know that this is the beginning of the discussion, and they are taking time out of their busy life to help you find your new family member. 

And if you make it to the end of the first part of your journey and find that new family member, your breeder should be someone you would want to be your friend, because you will be (or should be) calling them when you have questions or concerns. The Rhodesian Ridgeback breed can do the darndest things!
